Lead-time pressure eased because we no longer had to over-order units just to protect against supplier gaps. Inventory became easier to plan and spring quality became easier to trace.
The assembly team also stopped absorbing variation that should have been solved upstream. Once spring geometry and unit assembly became more controlled, rework dropped and line supervisors spent less time firefighting.
That made the Bonnell line feel like part of our own factory instead of a dependency we were constantly negotiating around.
